Before you start

Take consecutive screenshots with some shared content between each pair. A few complete messages or distinct lines of text give Smart Stitch something to match.

  • Keep the same orientation, text size and zoom level.
  • Wait for scrolling to stop. Keep the original screenshots without resizing them separately.
  • Capture every part you want to keep; stitching cannot restore missing content.

Step by step

  1. Choose Smart Stitch

Open Smart Stitch on Home and select your screenshots from the photo library. Grant access to the images you want to use if prompted.

  2. Select in reading order

Start with the first screenshot and continue to the last. Check the numbered selection badges, then tap Next. To correct the order, deselect and reselect the affected images.

  3. Check every join

Scroll through the preview and make sure each line appears once. Use Seams to inspect and adjust an imperfect join until the content is continuous.

  4. Trim and finish

Use Whole to trim the outside of the result, or Single to adjust an individual image. Continue with Next if you want to annotate or hide private information in the editor.

  5. Save and read it back

Open Export and choose Save Image or Share Image. Zoom into the saved image to check text and joins. A sharing app may compress long images, so check the received copy too.

If it needs a little adjustment

A line appears twice or disappears

Compare the originals on either side of the join, check their order, and adjust the seam crop. If neither original includes the missing line, capture it again.

The content shifts or changes size

Use original screenshots captured with the same orientation and zoom. Images resized or cropped differently are harder to align.

Smart Stitch cannot find a reliable join

Capture more shared content between adjacent screenshots. Distinct text is more useful than blank space or repeating wallpaper.
